About Sixth Form

Our Sixth Form is a vibrant and high achieving place to study. We aim to combine academic rigour with the benefits of a more mature relationship between staff and students that will allow you to achieve your full potential.
"Ofsted has consistently recognised our success in doing so and so have our former students. These young people have gone on to enjoy a huge range of opportunities - whether it is Oxford or Cambridge, Medicine or Veterinary Science, an advanced apprenticeship or a set of skills for the world of work, our Sixth Form is a friendly and supportive place to follow your dreams.
Stafford is fortunate to be part of one of the country’s leading schools, known as The Stafford Sixth Form. This means our students can choose from an exceedingly broad range of subjects and qualifications. The Sixth Form team will lead you through this process during Year 11, and my door is always open to any student who would like to discuss their options".

Sixth Form Applications for September 2026
In order to plan our curriculum blocks and enable students to study as many of their desired subjects at the academy, we will ask students to choose three preferred subjects. These choices will be informed by October’s Sixth Form taster lessons and Futures Evening.
Once students have selected their three choices via google form in tutor time, we will use this data to design our curriculum blocks, which will be issued in November. Students will then be asked to apply via The Stafford Sixth Form portal.
We are offering the following A level subjects at the academy:

Pastoral Care in the Sixth Form
In the Sixth Form as we recognise that you are adults choosing to study subjects you love.
Studying at post sixteen level is not easy, and choosing what to do after your time can be a complicated business. Therefore, you have your own assigned tutor whose job is to mentor you through the course. You will meet according to your individual needs. They will also guide you during your university applications, offering advice on where to apply, how to apply and how to write an effective personal statement. They will also provide any references you may require.
Our enrichment programme will provide information on the world of higher education and the workplace, whilst providing a range of opportunities to grow as a person whilst keeping safe and healthy.
You will also have access to our careers advisor throughout the course.
