Comic Relief 2026
Dear Parent/Person with Parental Responsibility,
On Friday 20th March it is Comic Relief Day which we will be supporting as an academy. We are aiming to raise donations in order to support amazing projects and organisations who are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world. Students have the opportunity to come to school in their own clothes (mufti) for the day on Friday 20th March. This year there is a national theme of Go Funny for Money and putting a spin on non-uniform days by going Red-to-Toe. This means trying to get students to come in wearing something Red, whether it is a T-Shirt, Jacket or Socks. We are asking that the pupils make either a £2 donation in tutor time or through Parent Pay for Comic Relief.
Please note:
•
Clothing must be appropriate for school (no crop tops/ short tops/ inappropriate slogans/short skirts or shorts) and that the usual safety rules with regards to uniform apply. For example, pupils should only be wearing one pair of simple stud earrings and false nails are not allowed
• Polish on own nails is fine on the MUFTI Day
• Pupils who have PE on this day must ensure that their clothing and footwear is suitable for learning. If you would like to make your donation online you can do this through parent pay following this link:
In addition to MUFTI, we have the following activities which we hope as many students as possible will join in with.
1. Bake Sale on Friday 20th March in the canteen. Prices will be between 50p - £1 (cash on the day only). Donations to bake sale welcome on the day [no nuts] – AP’s for those supporting
2. KS3 Sponsored Silence on Friday 20th March – Sponsorship forms from tutor
3. Photo Competition - Entries via email by Wednesday 18th March to wrafundraising@westonroad.staffs.sch.uk
Kind Regards,
Dr Floyd
