Homework: Information for Students
Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9)
All homework must be given a full week to complete.
Regular homework in Year 7 and Year 8 should take 30 minutes to complete.
Extended homework in Year 7 should take 2 hours to complete.
Extended homework in Year 8 should take 2.5 hours to complete.
Regular homework in Year 9 in English, Maths, Science and French should take 45 minutes to complete.
Regular homework in History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, Performing Arts, Physical Education and BCDL should take 60 minutes to complete.

Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & 11)
In key stage 4, teachers can set homework on a weekly basis, which should last 60 minutes.
Show My Homework
Homework at the Academy is managed via an online homework planner 'Show My Homework'. You can easily access Show My Homework and your homework planner through a computer, tablet or a smart phone.
When you join the Academy we will set up a username and password for Show My Homework and should log in straight away to make sure that you can access your account and see your homework planner.
You can use your planner to help prioritise your homework and to keep updated with deadlines. If you don't understand the homework or have any questions, please speak with your Teacher as soon as possible after the homework has been set.

How to Login to Show My Homework
You can access you Show My Homework planner login by clicking on the link below. This link takes you to the main Academy login page, where links for students are shown at the bottom of the page.

How To Submit Homework
Your Teacher will make it clear on Show My Homework how they want you to submit the work you have done for them.
If they ask you to email it to them, be sure to send the email from your Weston Road Academy email account (log on through the academy website Login to School Student Accounts – this will be the same login details as teams).
However, they may ask you to submit your homework through Show My Homework.
