Sixth Form Information Evening

A range of materials will be available on our school website to deliver a comprehensive picture of our KS5 experience and thus guide our students onto the courses that are best for them. We are very proud of the excellent results our students achieve and the careers they go on to enjoy. The average class size across the Stafford Sixth Form Partnership last year was 9, thus allowing rigorous and personalised student support, a key factor in our success. Perhaps most importantly, we know our students very well and can build on the relationships we’ve fostered over five years to finished their learning journeys, but this time as adults working together to get them where they want to be.

Materials on the sixth form section of the website include:

  • Our new 2023 Curriculum Programme
  • Our online prospectus
  • Videos and comprehensive materials from each of the WRA subjects, including our new courses for this year, Design and Technology A level and an exciting new digital qualification.
  • A video produced by Year 12 about how life in Sixth Form is different to Year 11
  • Responses to frequently asked questions that our Year 11 students tend to pose at this stage
  • A walkthrough of the electronic application process (students should only complete this after the December information evening)
  • Timetables and school timings
  • A summary of student destinations
  • A summary of the super curricular opportunities available to our students
  • Information about our exciting new Career Ready Programme, which provides prestigious work placements and professional mentors.

The Stafford Sixth Form Partnership allows us to offer our students a huge curriculum. If students wish to look beyond the academy’s comprehensive offer of courses, they can access courses at our partner schools. We are one of the most established Post 16 partnerships in the country, and so our students can opt for courses such as law, media, French, sociology and many others. The partnership website (staffordsixthformpartnership.co.uk) provides detailed information on every course available across the partnership. Students wishing to apply for these courses will do so through the academy- there is no need to apply through other centres.

We hope such a comprehensive range of online material will allow our students to explore fully the opportunities available to them in the 6th Form. GCSE teaching staff are at hand, throughout this term and beyond, to give individual guidance to students and are very happy to discuss their courses. I too can discuss any questions via telephone or email before and after student meetings take place.
